Monica Alcantara

Picture
Monica Alcantara has lived all over the west coast, but is proud to call Hawai`i home. Before moving to Washington at the end of 2007, she had devoted much of her spare time to theatre. In high school she developed a passion for the stage, debuting in Romeo and Juliet, and continuing on to bigger things from there. She has been a part of "Madhouse II", an improv and sketch comedy show at Leeward Community College, the Hawai`i Shakespeare Festival, as well as The Habitual Line Steppuhs, an improv comedy group. Her film experience includes a commercial for LCC, an appearance as an extra in the hit Universal/Apatow comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a couple of short films for Seattle's 48-Hour Film Festival, and most recently, a music video for Seattle-based artist Trama of Blacksenate. She is now pursuing modeling part-time as a hobby on the weekends. Her modeling experience is limited, but her drive and ambition will soon change that! She is thrilled to be a part of the Sugar Does Seattle show and can't wait to see what else the future holds. View Monica's portfolio at http://www.modelmayhem.com/monbon88.

Shaunte Emilia

Picture
Hi all, I am a model/singer with a passion for learning. Growing up I was very busy with various vocal performance groups, singing lessons, piano lessons, dance classes, musical theatre, horseback riding, and soccer.  Performance has always been my outlet, as well as a never ending opportunity to challenge myself to become better. As a recent graduate from the University of Washington I know that long term goals require hard work and dedication. For instance, I wanted to become fluent in Spanish so I took my university studies to Ecuador for 3 months and to Spain for another 5 monthes.  Now that I have time to focus on my modeling and singing career, I am excited to see where the same hard work and dedication will take me.  I am a reliable, easy going, yet passionate person, that has an appreciation for cultural differences. I am always excited to meet new people and explore new opportunities.  You can contact me at: shaunte.emilia@gmail.com

Lauren Napier

Picture
Driven by punk rock, glitter, and fashion, I am a rock n roll singer and a model; I like the aesthetics of both genres.
I view life as a performance of honesty and passion which I enjoy expressing through modeling and music.
Aside from posing for pictures I play often with my band, Creem City, and spend a lot of time at the barn with my horses.
The alphabet provides a more quite outlet at times, so I write for Smash Magazine and travel between the cities of LA and Seattle.
My life motto is not let someone else's slogan affect my own. And I live each day present in the moment.

Cheers!

Simi Sadiya

Picture
Simi Sadiya, the Bengali Seattleite is a petite model and dancer.  She has been dancing since an early stage of her life.  Although she has not had any formal dance training, she has performed at many diverse events.  Sadiya’s dedication and passion for dance has lead her to the hopes to soon begin professional training in Bharatanatym Indian classical dance.  Simi has been modeling for about three months.  Just within these short few months, this petite model has taken on the runway with 13 fashion shows (including the upcoming Sugar Art and Fashion show), multiple print and promotional jobs, and even a few commercials.  She recently auditioned and was selected to compete in Seattle’s Top Model 2011.  Being the least experienced model, she made it to the final round!  Although she’s a dance fanatic, modeling is her dream along with a life adventure.  Modeling is challenging and with every experience, it’s an opportunity to better her-self.  In addition to modeling and dancing, Simi works full-time as a Department Supervisor at the University of Washington, she thrives on technology, enjoys sketching, playing the piano, horseback riding, and absolutely loves soccer!  She also loves the adrenaline from activities such as river rafting and skydiving.  Simi is laid back and adventurous; not only does she have a sarcastic sense of humor but is reliable and always prepared.  She is stoked at the opportunity to be walking the runway for the Sugar Art and Fashion show!  You can also catch Simi at the Kube 93 Summer Jam fashion show and stay tuned on upcoming projects for the DList Magazine.  She looks forward to meeting and collaborating with a variety of interesting artists who have a passion for what they do! Simi is enthusiastic as to what the future holds and where her modeling journey will lead her.

Brandon Howell

Picture
Hi, my name is Brandon Howell and I am originally from Seattle but currently splitting my time between Seattle and LA. I am relatively new to the fashion industry but am loving it so far. Growing up, my focus was on playing sports (particularly football in which I received a full college scholarship) with modeling and acting in the background. However, at the age of 23 and as I have spent an increasing amount of time in the fashion industry and acting and with a move to LA in the works, I am hoping that I can turn modeling/acting into a career. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love and am excited to see what my future in the industry has in store for me.

Carmen Saizonou

Picture
Hey! My name is Carmen Saizonou aka Lola Love. I’m 18 years old. I was born and raised in Benin, a small country on the West Coast of Africa. I speak both French and English. I moved to the state of Washington 5 years ago, with my family. I am an aspiring model, singer and songwriter. The camera loves me, and I sure know how to work the runway! Trust me, I know how to deliver... Lol. The one thing I love about my image is that I’m highly relatable in a lot of different ways. Skinning girls can relate to me, and so can thicker girls too. =) I’m hard working. I more than anything want to inspire, it has long been my desire. I want to someday leave this world knowing that I’ve done my part, you can trust in me! I could not tell you the number of times I was told “Chances are real low. You won’t make it far…” I don’t want to just be another “superstar”, I want to make history!

I'm looking to work with different artists(photographers, musicians, designers etc..) in the entertainment industry.

You can contact me at LolaLove003@gmail.com or visit me at www.facebook.com/CarmenSaizonou

I go to the gym regularly and try to stay at a good fitness level, but I do like to gorge myself with food way too much so its pretty difficult :) music is also a huge passion of mine, singing in the car and shower are a must but I've also done some karaoke nights as well. When I am not doing any of those things, I am working full time in a major Telecom Company and part time in Pioneer Sq. I have always been an independent, care free person and I feel that has helped me mold who I am as an adult and has given me the ability to juggle many things at once. I look forward to where modeling can take me in my future and have been able to enjoy all aspects of it in many different lights and themes. Bernard R. Butler Jr.

Picture
The Journey: Bernard R. Butler Jr.   Coming from a family of three (Mother, Brother, and himself), at a young age, Bernard knew there’s something paradoxal about himself comparatively to his environment. Not knowing what is was, he perservered through countless measures in a constant search to find this “ghost” feeling of “Greatness.”   Moving from small country town, King George, Virginia august 17th, 2004, this country boy hadn’t a clue what he was about to witness but  felt it. Arriving in Seattle not knowing anyone but the friend who he flew here with, a Washingtonian, Bernard knew that one day he WILL be remembered. From dance battling in clubs and becoming known quite fast, still, he remained humble and focused. Having convinced himself that dance was going to be his mission on life, modeling surprised him. In 2009, he was given a call to come to be a model in Seattle Fashion Week 2009. Not thinking much of it after, he proceeded is way and the fashion world proceeded theirs. 2010, Bernard moves back home with a feeling of needing to refine himself and get to know his former roots again that he felt was lost. Gaining his confidence back and spirit, he knew after 3 months that it was time to head back to the city of Seattle. Knowing he would be homeless, he had a plan and nothing was going to stop him. At the point of arrival in seattle AGAIN, Homeless indeed he was BUT, NOT ONE person knew! He then decided maybe he should try this “modeling” thing out and try to get into the Seattle Fashion Week 2010. SUCCESS. From there He’d shake hands with the best of the best and still in the back of his mind, he knew at the end of the day, he’d be going to no home. Focused and driven with a fire that could burn the universe, he overcame.   Within the span of a YEAR, from 2010-2011, he worked many modeling events and became well known in the city of Seattle. From being picked by America’s Top Model, Eva Pigford, as “The Best Male Model” in a fashion show, Hosting the 2011 World of Dance, modeling in Vancouver fashion week 2010-2011, becoming a finalist to host for Visual Noise Type, landing to model in 2011 India fashion week in New Dehli, India, Gaing the title "Mr. Popular of Seattle" from a competition called, "Mr. Awesome of Seattle, performing/modeling for the 2011  Nike Maxim Awards, and many other amazing future opportunities.   All in all, the mission of Bernard is Quite simple: “I don’t want or care to be famous, if hat happens, GREAT. I just want to be KNOWN. Want the world to know that the world became better because I was here. That’s it. And to encourage all that WE ALL are amazing. It’s not just an Elite group of people, we ALL are so talented beyond measure that when discovered, WE CAN create  a black hole/Worm hole that will transition into a state of Magnanimity, Nobility, Vastness, Distinction, and Prominence. We are matter. Matter can take the shape of ANYTHING! I WILL help shape the world. All it takes is ONE person to shift a nation. The flutter of a butterfly’s wing can cause a Tsunami.” –Bernard R. Butler Jr.

Alexandria Shivell

Picture
My name is Alexandria Shivell, I am a model of Heffner Management in Seattle Washington. Modeling is my life right now. I started out modeling for life art and always was inspired to do high fashion. God blessed me with luck and the right features, now I’m in print work and runway. My goal is to make it as big as I can as a model. Heidi Klum is a role model of mine. Weather it seems realistic or not I’m working towards achieving similar accomplishments. I can be an energetic spaz and serious and professional at the same time. I see modeling as a window to art. I like to hear when I inspire a work of art or a great memory in someones heart.

Sierra Mckenzie

Alyssa Cave

Picture
My name is Alyssa Cave. I am 23 years old.. I was born in southern California, and through the years moved further and further north- finally ending in Seattle. I grew up as a total tom-boy/Rocker Chick.. (I was never the girly type) always hanging out with my 2 Brothers and little sister.. but as I grew into myself, I found a new level of enjoyment in modeling.. I was finally able to find myself and develop a style all of my own.
I am now working as a local Seattle Model, Makeup Artist, and Runway Coach, with 5+ years experience in Fashion & Runway, And have been lucky to make appearances in both local and national Magazines, and an international Wedding Book. I Love to be involved in Charity, and Benefit events.. (they tend to be my Favorites because its a great way to get involved, and mesh this industry with the things that Really matter.) I also teach runway to Girls & Young Women eager to learn the trade, and love spending time as guest speaker to young women about the importance of being themselves, and being confident in who they are, and not always trying to fit the "Fashion Model Mold". In the future, I hope to expand in the Makeup Artistry field and work on all types of movie sets, and photoshoots. I am Proud to be a Seattle Model; I am very easy to work with, and I love what I do. I firmly believe that the models here in Seattle are amazing and going to change the game in this industry! I am truly blessed to be where I am, and to have had the opportunities that I have.
