Meet the Sugar Dream Team
(aka Sugar Royalty)

Orchestrating the Sugar Art and Fashion Show is no simple task.  Luckily, we have an amazing staff to help us create these unique and memorable evenings.  Make yourself acquainted with the hardworking and dedicated Sugar staff and crew members!

Timmery Turner
Founder|Event Coordinator aka "The Queen Bee"
Los Angeles

Picture
Timmery, a graduate of FIDM with a major in fashion design decided to resurrect her career as a fashion and jewelry designer (www.1981collection.com) in 2008.   She was invited into the underground art scene due to her edgy, playful, and unique styled handmade jewelry.  After showcasing her work at an underground art event called "Pancakes and Booze"  she was immediately inspired to develop a show for emerging and underground female talent.  This was an excellent opportunity for her to help unseen artists reach the masses and receive the light that they deserved.  Her love of art, music, photography, performance and fashion are the driving forces behind the Sugar Art and Fashion Show.

She has since gone on to develop other art shows for local emerging talent including, SINdustry: The 7 Deadly Sins of Art, which is an 8 month interactive art series based off of the 7 Deadly Sins.

"My main objective is to give emerging artists and talent the opportunities I was never presented, in a way that is attention catching and memorable. I want to encourage entrepreneurship and art as a business.  It can be done and it is possible. I really don't care what anybody says on the matter!"

With Timmery fearlessly leading at the helm, the Sugar Art and Fashion Show is now currently touring across the country sharing her unique perspective of the underground with the world. In doing so she is creating waves with press and media by showcasing her edgy productions at more notable venues such as New York's Bryant Park Hotel. Timmery also writes a quarterly column based off her wild and eclectic life called 'The Mad Girl Diaries,' (www.MadGirlDiaries.com) which runs in L.A based fashion publication Tinsel Tokyo Magazine. (www.TinselTokyo.com) Most recently she has started writing as a fashion columnist for the up and coming alternative fashion magazine, Prysm. (www.PrysmMagazine.com)

With her reach constantly growing and new enterprises forming under her belt everyday, including her latest female oriented gaming venture, Girl Brain, Timmery is expanding her mark in the industry every second with a creative touch only a true Mad Girl could have.

Nathan Leitner
Director of Operations & Finance aka "Your Highness"
Los Angeles

Picture
Nathan was born in Seattle, WA and spent most of his life in the Northwest. Attending college at the University of Puget Sound, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business and Management. After college, he moved back to Seattle and began his career as a business analyst and soon realized his entrepreneurial endeavors would outweigh that of the corporate track he was headed toward. Soon thereafter, he started a small consulting business and a foundation providing soccer balls around the world. He moved to Los Angeles last year and began working with Timmery and now heads the finance and operations for the company. He also recently started a surf, skate and boarding line, Dekan Clothing, with his sister Nicole. In his free time, Nathan enjoys traveling, sports, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

Daniel Perez
Production Manager aka "the Prince or Court Jester"

Los Angeles

Picture
Daniel Perez is my birth name but everyone likes to call me Chato. I been very lucky the past year to have met such beautiful and talented people. My goal is  to reach out and help anyone with a "bigger purpose" and anyone who believe in strength in numbers. Art comes in all shapes and forms, whether it be fashion, music, graphic arts, performance art, painting, or digital.  I aim to spread the word of up and coming artists.

I came into this project not knowing who or what to expect, but thats the beauty of it all!

Charlotte Cahill
Art Director
aka "le creative one"
Los Angeles

Picture
Repin' for Boston, Massachusetts, I've been in sunny California chasing the dream for about a year now. Before setting out for Cali, I received my BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in Sculpture and Metal-smithing (Jewelry). Since I've been here I've been exploring new forms of expression such as hiphop/break-dancing, graffiti, printmaking, and fashion. In short, soaking up the Cali experience. With a jewelry line in the works, I'm very excited to see all aspects of my artistic visions come to fruition. Until then, I'm keeping myself close to inspiring female artists who are really making things happen like Timmery, founder of Sugar art and Fashion. As far as my role in the Dream Team is concerned; I'm Timmery's right hand woman, learning from her and helping her with whatever she needs to make the evening possible.

Jameson Thomas
Lead Hair Stylist aka "Jameson Famous"
Seattle

Picture
When the Sugar Art And Fashion Show made its way to Seattle, I seized the opportunity to harness my creativity in a FIRESTORM of hairspray and glitter.  As an up and coming hair stylist and make up artist just scratching the surface of my potential, I was honored to be asked by Timmery to be a part of Team Sugar as Lead Hairstylist in charge of building our hair and makeup armies for the tour.  My goals in my career are different than some stylists in that i know selling yourself to a person is just as important as selling them a haircut or color. To brand myself apart as something unique and interesting to the people i work with is my true goal and with every person i meet i am on my way. I'm pleased to be a part of the team and to parallel my growth with the creative heights i know the sugar show will propel its self to. And personally, will be making damn sure everyone is laughing the whole strange journey into all of our successes. Feel free to click my picture above to take a look at some of my portfolio as well as read about what i have to say about fashion and trends coast to coast on my Facebook Fan Page!

Krystle Monahan
Casting Director aka "Gorgeous Mess"
Seattle

Picture
Krystle has many loves but two of them are shoes and Betsy Johnson. She was born and raised in Seattle where she attended the International Academy of Design and Technology to design her main love in life: shoes. After graduating she fell into the retail world managing at various stores before finding Sugar. She now works as the casting director with sugar and you can catch her at the shows in a big dress or tutu and a tiara.

Angelique Ashton
Designer Mentor aka "Mother Hen"
Seattle

Picture
Angelique Ashton is just a girl who loves sparkly things. A costume and accessories designer and Owner of ShamelessGlamour.com, her life has always been lived from one event to the next, any excuse to get dolled up and rock some flashy jewelry. From her seventh birthday party when she wore a pink chiffon party dress while her friends all came in jeans, to her forays in the pageant world, she has always sought out opportunities to shine, literally. Angelique brings her flare for the theatrical and enthusiasm for supporting fellow artists to the Sugar team as their Seattle based Designer Mentor. Her goal for the future is to bring into reality her dream store/fashion venue in Seattle.

Angelique has been called by some, a bit of a diva. This criticism has become her philosophy. Her aim through her designs is to create divas, to inspire people of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors, orientations and beliefs to put on something sparkly, hold their head high and make no excuses for being fabulous.

Nicole Leitner
Fashion Show Director aka "The Princess"

Los Angeles

Picture
My name is Nicole Angelic Leitner.  I am not surprise I ended up falling into SUGAR since Timmery (the founder) and my brother Nathan (business partner) are heading these amazing events.  I myself am an artist and I love that these events have allowed me to completely surround myself in art.  I am from Seattle, WA and have lived in Los Angeles for 10 years.  I went to FIDM and majored in Visual Communications.  I am a Costumer and primarily work on feature films but dab in the commercial world as well. SUGAR has given women a way to display/sell their artwork and it will never be mainstream, just the way I like it!!! Can you tell I am a fan ;) xoxo's Nicole

Candy Parker
Art Director aka "The Pretty Rebel"

Los Angeles

Picture
I am Candy Parker... I have been working with 1981 Collection as a graphic designer and a vendor at local underground art shows for about 2 years...I think, it feels like forever, in a good way. What started as a design job, with my awesome friend and fellow FIDM alumni Timmery, turned into a world of opportunity in the art community. Currently 1981 Collection hosts the Sugar Art & Fashion Show! For the past several shows I have been on the Sugar Team working behind the scenes. Starting as the 1981 Collection vendor I have worked my way up to assisting Timmery and Nathan with whatever they need as well as a member of the Sugar Crew. Currently I help with the art portion of Sugar and keeping T sane. I help with finding new up and coming artists to feature, scheduling art days, making the stage, help Nathan during drop off and hanging the art itself. The Sugar series has been amazing and grows with every show I hope to continue to grow with it.

Chelsi Chastian
Executive Assistant aka "the Duchess"

Los Angeles

Picture
This is Chelsi, Timmery's spitfire assistant. Once upon a midnight, she witnessed Timmery's amusing volunteer experience at the Rocky Horror picture show. Chelsi then proceeded to introduce herself, Timmery handed her a Sugar business card and the rest is history. Although she's 4'10 with a smile on her face, she's known to have quite the sinister side.  Her passion for spreading her optimist and genuine excitement for life to others is quite infectious. Chelsi now juggles college, two jobs as well as being an essential part of the Sugar Staff. Her role includes running errands, managing guest lists and assisting in keeping Timmery as stress free as possible. She brings sanity and calm to the creative process as well as keeping tabs on everything that goes on around her. Her constant smile helps ease chaos and  make the best of any sticky situation. Chelsi is infinitely grateful for all the opportunities that Sugar has given her. She cant wait to see the dream that is the Sugar Art and Fashion Show come fully to fruition. <3

Linda Tovar
Multimedia Specialist aka "the Vandalist"
Los Angeles

Picture
Linda Vanessa Tovar was born & raised in Pasadena,Ca to parents of Salvadoran decent.
Her mother, an aspiring model and her father, a musician, inspired Linda to follow her own path as an
artist and a scholar. Having won the Posse Scholarship, a four year tuition to Grinnell College as a senior in high school,
Linda found herself back in her hometown after losing it all due to unfortunate circumstances. She basically
had to start anew, and in 2009 co-founded Da Bidnez Fashion Art Collective. That same year, she met Timmery Turner.
Entranced by her energy and admiration for her business, Linda kept in close contact with Timmery by blogging and participating
in the Los Angeles Sugar events. She loved what she discovered at the Sugar shows, that when given the opportunity to become
part of the Sugar Dream team, immediately jumped on board. Linda is a helping hand & a creative motivator at the Sugar events.
She still finds the time to write and make music, passions that live on through her way of life.

Kellie Kana Flowers
Event Coordinator aka "the Blonde Bombshell"
Seattle

Picture
Hi, I’m Kellie Kana AKA Blonde Bombshell! Even though I look like an LA-native and my name does seem a bit porn-star-ish, don’t be deceived!  I was born and raised a southern belle in Virginia and after receiving my BFA in Fashion design from Virginia Commonwealth University, I moved to the big apple to begin my fashion design career designing handbags. Due to the bad economy, I moved out of NYC and to Seattle where I became enslaved as a retail clothing store manager. After feeling a sense of something missing from my life, I finally quit my job and found my motivation for fashion once again. I came across Sugar, fell in love, and found my place as event coordinator assisting Timmery with everything as well as annoying her as much as possible.  I’m happy to have found my home at team Sugar and can’t wait for what our future holds!
